ISABEL

Mayfair, London

Isabel offers elegant dining in the heart of Mayfair, London. This luxurious bar and restaurant provides a unique experience through its design and menu. Exotic woods, green velvets, and mirrored walls set the tone for a truly special experience in the ‘Mayfair sister of Notting Hill's Casa Cruz’.

Originally designed by SHW, the client then appointed Hallmark Kitchens to take over the project, developing the design through to completion, including supply and installation. We were appointed after interviews with Juan Santa Cruz, the owner of Isabel and Casa Cruz in Holland Park, and Gareth Sefton of SHW.

Located in a prestigious part of Mayfair, the project was always going to be high-profile. We developed the design in conjunction with Thomas Straker, the Group Head Chef, tailoring it to his exact requirements. The main contractor was WFC, with whom we have worked on numerous restaurant projects, ensuring a smooth integration into the team.

The key challenge was the compact size of the kitchen, which required fitting highly specified equipment into a small space. Every dimension had to be checked and cross-checked to ensure proper ergonomics and kitchen flow. Additionally, the kitchen's location in the basement posed logistical challenges for equipment installation.

Hallmark ensured that all sections of the cook suite, along with fabrication, ventilation canopies, cold rooms, and more, were correctly sized to suit the access. Once specified, the project ran smoothly to completion, and we are proud of the finished kitchen. The equipment included counter-style fabrication by Select Fabrications, Halton ventilation canopies with UV filtration, Ansul and water mist protection, cold rooms by Foster Coldstore, a cook suite by Athanor, dish and glass washing by Meiko, a Robata grill by Clay Oven Company, combi ovens by Rational and MKN, and Foster refrigerated cabinets. Various other pieces of proprietary equipment were installed both integrated into fabrication and as stand-alone units.
